Green Key 🌿

Based on the environment around us, people’s awareness, and their values, eco-friendliness is becoming increasingly important. We are also moving in this direction to be more environmentally sustainable in our daily operations and leave a smaller footprint behind. The V Spa Hotel complex includes a hotel, conference center, Joyce restaurant, and V Café.
Here are the key points we have set as daily goals in our company:
Hotel
- Yes, we save water!
- We have installed water-saving taps in public areas. You can still sing in the shower, but keep it short—make sure the chorus fits into a single verse!
- We use electricity wisely because there’s romance in the dark!
- We use energy-efficient LED lights.
- Hotel rooms are equipped with cardholders to activate electricity.
- Paper? That’s so 90s!
- We reduce paper use and share information via QR codes.
- If guests need a receipt, we offer to email it instead, reducing the number of printed invoices.
- Sorting waste – it’s like LEGO, but for adults!
- We sort waste according to environmental regulations.
- We’re smoke-free – because we love fresh air!
- The entire V Spa Hotel complex is smoke-free.
- Active movement – escape your comfort zone!
- We encourage guests to rent a bike near the hotel or take a pleasant walk along the Emajõgi River.
- We value time spent outdoors and happily introduce our guests to green Tartu.
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator – you’ll see your steps count more than Instagram likes!
- We reduce packaging!
- We use soap and shampoo dispensers in hotel rooms and no longer provide single-use toiletries.
- Housekeeping is done upon request, indicated by the door sign.
- We support the circular economy!
- We donate old blankets, pillows, and towels to animal shelters and furniture to children’s homes.
- We value recycling and use recycled paper for room cards, gift cards, and more.
- We clean surfaces naturally – just like grandma used to!
- We carefully select the products we purchase, ensuring they are environmentally friendly or produced sustainably.

V Conference Centre
- No more shuffling through piles of paper! In the conference center, we avoid traditional paper signs and instead use screens to display information.
- No disposable dishes can be found – even in the mystery drawer!
- Recycled paper is used for food labels – if we use paper, it must already have a story.
- We sort waste according to environmental regulations.
- We reduce paper use and share information through QR codes – after all, phones are meant to be useful!
- We use energy-efficient equipment.

Catering
- Our mindset is zero waste and nose-to-tail, and we strongly adhere to this approach. When designing menus, we aim to utilize raw materials to the fullest.
- Our catering team follows the FIFO (First In, First Out) principle – they’re true ingredient ninjas, keeping all dates in check.
- Waste and trash are sorted according to environmental regulations, including bio-waste management and bottle recycling. Even banana peels feel important when placed in the right bin!
- We continuously monitor and reduce food waste.
- At Joyce Restaurant, we use free-range eggs for dishes on the à la carte menu.
- We offer tap water as a priority to our guests because it’s that good! The restaurant uses the Purezza double-filtration water system.
- The drinking straws in our fabulous cocktails are made from bamboo fiber and have an eco-label.

When we leave, we turn off the lights 😉
